"Curing HIV-1 Infection: How Close Are We?"
The slow decay of the latent reservoir in resting CD4+ T-cells is a major barrier to eradication of HIV infection. However, recent developments, including the cure of a single patient, have led to renewed optimism that the reservoir can be eliminated. The current status of eradication research will be discussed.
